In the fall of 2008, after a comprehensive proposal process, Neighbors Allied for Good Growth (NAG) and the People's Firehouse, Inc. (PFI) were awarded the rights by the city of New York to re-develop the former Engine Co. 212 firehouse into a full-service community and cultural center.

The North Side Town Hall will provide...

  • A permanent home for NAG and PFI to continue providing leadership, advocacy and direct services to Williamsburg/Greenpoint
  • Affordable, quality office and meeting space for community organizations that share the mission and commitment of NAG and PFI
  • A ground floor exhibition space for local cultural and arts organizations as well as much needed community meeting space to foster dialogue on important neighborhood issues and help in organizing and educational efforts
  • Commemorate FDNY Company #212 and other local history
