Arts
The Arts Committee is now accepting applications for its Art Happenings Series: DEADLINE is January 21st in office!!!
An important component of the project is the conversion of a substantial portion of the ground floor of the former firehouse into a multi-use gallery space that will…
- Provide affordable exhibition and performance space for artists as well as local cultural and arts organizations
- Ensure the vitality of the North Brooklyn creative community
- Create affordable and accessible space for local non-profits and community groups to meet and host a wide range of outreach, educational, and social events
- Work with the local school boards, parks departments and families in creating programming for arts and environmental education
- Commemorate the history of activism in saving the Engine 212 building for the community
In order to maintain this beneficial and high quality programming, income will be generated from reasonably priced rental of the space for exhibitions & private events, a portion of the proceeds from ticketed events, along with a yearly NAG and PFI sponsored Town Hall fundraiser.
Several prominent local artists, arts organizations, representatives, and directors of neighborhood gallery and performance spaces have enthusiastically endorsed our vision for the creation of a Town Hall Arts Collaborative that will help manage the programming.
